This research aims to study the shape of community empowerment of Purbalingga residents in the prevention of domestic violence cases and barriers experienced by PPT HARAPAN.
This research is a empirical legal research with descriptive qualitative approach. The Research location is at the Secretariat of the Office of research at PPT HARAPAN which is under the Office of the DINSOSDALDUKKBP3A (Social Service, family planning and Population Control, women's empowerment and child) Purbalingga. Types of data used include primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are used, namely through interviews and studies covering literature through various libraries, legislation, research, journals and books, associated with the issue. Technique of data analysis used qualitative methods of analysis through with an interactive model.
Based on the results of the study of the data that are obtained during the year 2012 until 2017, PPT HARAPAN recorded 46 (forty six) cases of domestic violence occurred in Purbalingga. High number of domestic violence  due to the lack of education about the law, domestic violence and lack of public awareness to prevent domestic violence happening around them. Thus PPT HARAPAN provides domestic violence prevention efforts through community empowerment which included preventive, curative, persuasive effort. Barriers experienced by PPT HARAPAN in delivering prevention efforts against domestic violence, is divided into two, namely the internal factors of the PPT HARAPAN of hope, as well as the external factors include the resistance of the victim, the victim's family, community and the resistance of the country.
