ABSTRAK
The  objectives  of  this  internship  report  are  (1)  to  explain the  activities  that  I  did during  internship  and  (2)  to  explain  the  subtitling  process  of  a  video  and  the  translation process  of  a  document.  The  internship  was  conducted  from  February19,2018  to  March23,2018.  The  working  time  in  the  office  was  three  daysa  week,  Monday,  Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, while the working time outside the office was four days a week, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. During those times, I was able to madeeight   subtitles,   four   transcripts,   and   translated13   documents   ranging   from automotive,  legal,  and  IT  fields  of  work.  On  the  subtitling  process,  I  went  through  four steps  which  are  comprehending  the  video,  transcribing,  timing  and  hardcoding.  I  used several  translation  techniques  and  tactics  to  translate  the  transcript  and  the  documents. The  translation  techniques  were description, reduction,  addition,  adaptation,  borrowing, and  establish  equivalence.  I  encountered  two  problems  in  subtitling  and  translating namely  comprehending  what  the  speaker’s  said,total  of  characters  in  a  subtitle  lines, subtitle  alignment,and  translating  automotive  terminology.  The  solutions  to  those problems  were  consulting  with  the  project  manager,  simplifying  the  words  and  dividing the  sentences  into  several  subtitle  lines,  changing  the  subtitle  alignmentand  doing internet research.
