ABSTRAK
The objective of the research is to find out whether or not the textbook entitled “Bahasa Inggris”, a textbook for the eleventh grade of Senior High School, conforms to the criteria of a good textbook suggested by Alan Cunningsworth and 2013 Curriculum, namely: aim and approach, design and organization, language content, skills, topic, methodology, and teacher’s book. This research uses descriptive method, which refers to content analysis. The writer took all chapters in the textbook as the sample of research. The results reveal that the percentage of “Bahasa Inggris” textbook in developing Alan Cunningsworth checklist items is 75.6% which means good in developing checklist items of Alan Cunningsworth. Viewed from 2013 curriculum, Bahasa Inggris textbook is considered as fairly good, as it develops 50% checklist items of 2013 curriculum. The results of the research imply that the textbook is relevant to the goals of teaching program, presented in an attractive design and various topics, and appropriate to the age and grade of students. Thus, “Bahasa Inggris textbook is appropriate to use by teachers, yet should be accompanied by other sources to provide more activities, grammar sections, and listening practices.
