Abstrak

This research aims to find out about: (1) teacher’s understanding about scientific approach in English teaching and learning activity (2) the implementation in the class and the problems that appear. This research was a qualitative study. The subject was an English teacher of a senior high school in Banyudono. The data were collected through observation and interview. The findings showed that the teacher fully understand about scientific approach. Teacher implemented scientific approach in her teaching and learning activity in the class. There were difficulties in the implementation of scientific approach in the class. The problems are in the observing and questioning stage.
