× This study aims at: (1) exploring the kinds of Authentic Materials (AMs) and (2) discovering the use of AMs. This study was conducted by using case study method which had been carried out at Language Centre Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta in the first semester of academic year of 2018/2019. The data were collected by three instruments, i.e. interview, classroom observation, and document analysis. The data were, then, analyzed through interactive method. Then, the findings show that Authentic Materials mastery is one of the most important ability in teaching speaking that can be classified into three types: audio, audio-visual, and printed material that mainly done in the opening and the main stages combined with a range of speaking activities. In this study, teachers used three kinds AMs that mostly taken from the Internet, they are: (1) audio material: recordings and broadcast news (2) audio visual material: videos (3) printed material: photos, pictures, images, articles, and a map. Besides, the findings show that teachers’ ways in teaching speaking by using the three kinds of authentic materials had shared the similar activities such as listening/watching, questioning, discussing, and presenting the speaking task. Considering the results of this study, it is important for teachers to select the appropriate kinds of AMs by considering certain criteria based on needs analysis before using them in the classroom. There are boundless source from the Internet that teachers could find for teaching speaking. From selected websites, teachers might take useful AMs and combine them with course book in order to support teaching learning activity
