This internship report was written based on the internship activities that I did at Tourism Department of Semarang Regency. The internship was conducted from 4 February 2019 to 1 March 2019. I worked for five days in a week, from Monday-Friday. The objectives of this report are to explain the process of translating tourism promotional texts and translating tourist attraction brochures, the problems that I faced during the internship, and the way I solved the problems.
I translated 34 tourism promotional texts as website contents and two tourist attraction brochures during my internship. Here, I used three steps to translate all of my translation works. The steps that I used to translate were analyzing source text, translating source text to target language, and proofreading the translation result. I found some problems while translating my translation works. The problems were the bad structure of source text and unfamiliar words. To solve the problems, I applied translation techniques that I learned at the classes in order to make me translate the words well.
