Abstrak

This research focuses on analyzing the use of conjunctions in 25 recounttexts made by grade 8 students. There are two types of conjunctions applied in thisresearch; external conjunction and internal conjunction. The purposes of thisresearch are to find conjunction types in the correct form, to find conjunction typesin the incorrect form, and to find the reasons of the conjunction error.  This research employs a descriptive qualitative method in which the dataare collected from recount texts of the student. This method refers to formulate theconclusion by collecting and classifying the data of the research.  The result of the data analysis shows that: 1) The imbalance numberbetween the external conjunctions, 117 data, and the internal conjunctions, 2 data,in the correct form. 2) The imbalance number between the external conjunctions,consisting of; 24 data of the omission error, 35 data of the addition error, 14 data ofthe misformation error, and 17 data of the misordering error, and internalconjunctions, consisting of 3 data of the addition error and 1 datum of themisordering error, in the incorrect form. 3) The imbalance number of the reasonsof the error that consists of three classifications; the learner does not know the errorthat occurs 82 data, the learner forgets the structure that occurs 9 data, and thelearner has not been taught about the conjunctions that occurs 2 data.
