This descriptive – qualitative research study was conducted to illustrate the relation between assertive act (giving information) and the other speech acts as its response in the movie entitled Allied (2016). The movie is about the war between England-Germany and romance. In this thesis, the researcher listed the entire assertive act (giving information) that occurs in the movie and identifies the responses based on the context of situation and gender.
There are five speech acts used as the response to the assertive act in the movie, those are: assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative act. There are explanations when the actor/actress responding to the assertive act in every  scene.  The  response  that  occurs  is  regarding  to  their  gender,  relation between the characters, and the theme of the movie. Expressive act is the most used response in this movie. Male and female characters mostly also use the expressive act to respond the assertive act. The reason why expressive act mostly used when the characters respond to the assertive act is because the expressive act
can shows the speaker’s emotion and feeling about the information that they get explicitly. There are some forms of expressive act that appear in this movie such as swearing, thanking, apologizing, etc.
