Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik, kelayakan, dan keefektifan produk yang dikembangkan yaitu modul sains berbasis DJP Model untuk memberdayakan kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1
Geger pada pokok bahasan Sistem Ekskresi Manusia.
Jenis penelitian adalah Research and Development. Prosedur penelitian menggunakan ADDIE oleh Raiser dan Mollenda yang meliputi lima tahap yaitu: analyze, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Penentuan subjek penelitian menggunakan simple random sampling technique dan didapatkan 34 siswa kelas XI MIA 3 (kelas eksperimen) serta 34 siswa kelas XI MIA 6 (kelas kontrol). Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes (soal pilihan ganda) dan non tes (wawancara, observasi, kuesioner, dokumentasi). Analisis data dilakukan dengan deskriptif kuantitatif. Analisis data kemampuan berkomunikasi dilakukan dengan menghitung kemunculan masing-masing indikator dan nilai N• Gain, serta diuji statistik menggunakan Mann-Whitney test.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) karakteristik modul sains yang dikembangkan yaitu memuat sintaks DJP Model yang meliputi: a preview section, a deep thinking section, an exercise section, solving problems, explaining, and evaluation dan untuk memberdayakan kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa; 2) pengembangan modul sains berbasis DJP Model divalidasi oleh para ahli materi, disain dan penyajian, perangkat pembelajaran, bahasa, praktisi pendidikan, dan uji skala kecil oleh siswa, sehingga dinyatakan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi kelas XI; 3) modul sains berbasis DJP Model efektif dalam memberdayakan kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai N-Gain kelas eksperimen 0,3 berkategori sedang dan kelas kontrol 0,02 berkategori rendah, serta hasil uji statistik menggunakan Mann• Whitney test didapatkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0>

Abstact
This research is change it to understand the characteristics, appropriateness, and affectiveness of the developed product which is science module based on DJP Model to empower the communication skill of 11" graders of SMA Negeri 1 Geger on Human's Excretion System Material.
This research is a research and development (Rn D). The research uses ADDIE procedure by Raiser and Mollenda which consist of five steps namely: analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The method used in this research is experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. The sample is determined through simple random sampling technique and obtained 34 11" graders from XI MIA 3 (experiment class) and 34 students of XI MIA 6 (control class). The data collection is done through test (multiple choice questions) and non test (interview, observation, questionnaire, documentation). The data analysis is done through descriptive quantitative. The data analysis of communication skills is done through counting the number of each indicator appears and the N-Gain score, as well as Mann-Whitney Test statistical test.
Based on the result, can be concluded that : 1) the characteristics of the developed science module containing the syntax of DJP Model containing of: a preview section, a deep thinking section, an exercise section, solving problem, explaining, and evaluation and to empower students' communication skill; 2) the development of DJP Model-Based Science module is validated by material, design and presentation, learning media, language experts, education practitioners, and small scale test by students, therefore it is categorized as appropriate to be implemented in the biology subject in 11" grade; 3) DJP model-based science module proved to be effective in empowering students' communication skill, this is shown by the N-Gain score of experimental class by 0,3 which categorized into medium category and the control class N-Gain score of 0,2 which include into low category, while the result of statistical test using Mann-Whitney test has been obtained the significant score of 0,000 < 0,05 which shows the significant different of students' communication skill between the control and the experiment group.
