There is a default assumption that high school students do not need heightened activity to learn effectively, some teachers assume that older students are really learning as they sit listening to the lesson. Active Participation of the students is required in order to reach the objectives of the learning.

This research is aimed to (1) identify whether the implementation of Active Learning Strategy ‘Everyone is A Teacher Here’ (ETH) can enhance participation of the EFL classroom. (2) describe the difficulties during the implementation of Active Learning Strategy ‘Everyone is A Teacher Here’ (ETH) in the EFL classroom.

The subject of this research is eleventh grade students of Senior High School, consist of 24 students. This research consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of three meetings which require four steps: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The sources of data, I used observation notes, field notes, video recording, photograph, interview, pre-observation, and post-observation. In analysing the data, I used constant comparative method for qualitative data, and I used descriptive statistics for quantitative data.

The research results obtained are: (1) Active Learning Strategy ‘Everyone is A Teacher Here’ (ETH) can improve students’ participation at the class. It was supported by the result of the observation scores. The mean score of pre-observation was 39.56 and it improved into 62.64 in the cycle 1 and 71.81 in the cycle 2. (2) The difficulties during the implementation of ETH were in the class management, pronunciation, and vocabulary mastery. However, almost all the difficulties found in cycle 1 had been solved in cycle 2.

The results of the study have given some contribution and useful information in developing English language teaching, especially in the institution where the research is conducted.
