Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menganalisis miskonsepsi siswa pada materi reaksi redoks kelas X MIPA SMAN 2 Karanganyar; (2) mengetahui faktor penyebab miskonsepsi siswa pada materi reaksi redoks kelas X MIPA SMAN 2 Karanganyar.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif menggunakan three-tier test. Hasil analisis lain miskonsepsi menggunakan wawancara dan angket. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X MIPA SMAN 2 Karanganyar.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Miskonsepsi siswa kelas X MIPA SMAN 2 Karanganyar terjadi pada materi reaksi redoks subkonsep pelepasan dan penerimaan elektron, penggabungan dan pelepasan oksigen, pengertian redoks, penentuan bilangan oksidasi, kenaikan dan penurunan bilangan oksidasi, oksidator reduktor, dan autoredoks dengan persentase miskonsepsi siswa kelas X MIPA SMAN 2 Karanganyar pada materi reaksi redoks sebesar 34,49%; siswa memahami konsep sebesar 38,38%; siswa tidak memahami konsep sebesar 17,53%; eror sebesar 9,69%. (2) Faktor penyebab siswa mengalami miskonsepsi yaitu internal siswa, kepercayaan pada teman, kurangnya interaksi guru dan siswa, buku ajar kurang lengkap dan metode mengajar monoton.

Abstract
The purpose of this study to: (1) analysis of student misconception on the matter of oxidation and reduction in 10th grade science class of SMAN 2 Karanganyar; (2) know cause of student misconceptions misconception on the matter of oxidation-reduction reaction in 10th grade science class of SMAN 2 Karanganyar.
The kind of research used is a descriptive research with qualitative approach. This instrument which is used in this research are three-tier test, interview and quisionnaire. Subjects in this research of the class X science SMAN 2 karanganyar.
The result of the research showed that: (1) Student misconception on the matter of oxidation and reduction in 10th grade class of SMAN 2 Karanganyar occurs in subconcept gain or loss oxygen, gain or loss electrons, meaning of oxidation-reduction reaction, determination of oxidation number, increase and decrease oxidation number, auto oxidation-reduction, reductor and oxidator. Percentage student misconception on the matter of oxidation and reduction in 10th grade class of SMAN 2 Karanganyar are 34,49%; understand the concept are 38,38%; Lack of Knowledge are 17,53%; error are 9,69%. (2) Cause of student misconception on the matter of oxidation-reduction reaction in 10th grade class of SMAN 2 Karanganyar were from within student, trust in friend, lack of interaction between teacher and student, incomplete book, monotonous teaching method.
