ABSTRACT

This report is written based on my internship experience at Department of Youth, Sport and Tourism of Boyolali Regency from January 8th 2020 to March 8th 2020. The objectives of the internship were to practice my translation skill and upgrade the promotion of tourist destinations in Boyolali Regency. There were two main projects that I did i.e. translating tourist guidebook and translating website content. There were three steps that I did i.e. analyzing, transferring, and restructuring. During conducting
the translation project, I found some problems in translating local cultural terms, unclear information and ineffective sentence in source text. In addition, I also provide the
solutions to figure out the problems. The solution to overcome the local cultural terms was finding the meaning on the articles and online dictionary. Next, the solutions to solve unclear information were finding the message and giving the main idea. Then, the solution to figure out ineffective sentence was restructuring the sentences to be more readable.
