ABSTRACT

This report was written based on the internship program in Radyapustaka Museum and Keris Nusantara Museum from January 6th, 2020 to March 6th, 2020. The objectives are to explain the process of making Indonesian and English guidebooks, the problems faced and the solutions done.

I made two guidebook versions of Indonesian and English Language. The focus of this internship report is translating the Indonesian guidebook into the English one. There were three stages used in translating the guidebook. The stages were analyzing, transferring, and restructuring. There were also problems I faced such as the lack of information about Javanese terms, bad structures of the source text, deciding the equivalent words, and different information among sources. The solutions of those problems were by doing researches using internet and books as resources, using dictionaries as references, restructuring the unorganized texts, and consulting to the experts in the museums.
