ABSTRACT

This internship report is written based on the internship program at Nglanggeran Tourism Village as one of the tourist sites of the Tourism Department of Gunungkidul Regency since January 6, 2020, to March 6, 2020. The objective of the internship is to upgrade the quality of promotion at Nglanggeran Tourism Village by translating the official website and making an information board in two versions (Indonesian and English) of a new destination in Nglanggeran Tourism Village. There were three stages of translating the project. The stages were analyzing, transferring, and restructuring. There were several processes to make the information board, including the contents and design. There were some problems faced while conducting the internship projects. The problems faced during the translation activities were when translating the cultural term, acronym and abbreviation, and translating the confusing expression in the source text. The problem faced on making the information board activities were when deciding the contents and making the design. I also present solutions to overcome the problems. The solutions to overcome the problems of translation activities were by utilizing the online dictionaries and finding proper strategies. The solutions to overcome the problems of making the information board activities were by doing deep research about the information board and the destination and learning to make a good design.
