The objectives of this research are to describe difficulties of student with high, medium, and low logic-mathematic intelligence in solving matematical problem of sraight line equation that causes difficulties and its factors.
This research conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Kuwarasan Kebumen Regency on the class of VIII A using descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this research consist of three groups, high, medium, and low logic-mathematic intelligence. Two student from each group were taken as the sample by applying purposive sampling technique. The data of student logic-mathematic intelligence were gathered through the logic-mathematic intelligence tes. The data of student difficulties in solving mathematic problem of straight line equation were gathered by assignment-based interview. Data validation was done by time triangulation. Data analysis involve three activities, analyzing all data inculded data reductions, present the data, and make conclusion.
Based on data analysis, it concluded that: (1) student with high logic-
mathematic intelligence experienced difficulties in using correct mathematic procedure; (2) student with medium logic-mathematic intelligences experienced difficulties in determining problem solving strategy, making mathematical form, and using correct mathematic procedure; (3) student with low logic-mathematic intelligence experienced difficulties in understanding problem, determining problem solving strategy, making mathematical form, and using correct mathematic procedure.
