This study aims to find out about the role of social capital to the continuity of the ATBM striated weaving industry in Tlingsing Village, Cawas District, Klaten Regency. The theories used in this study are the theory of social capital by Robert Putnam and the theory of social capital of Pierre Bordieu. This research is qualitative research using case study method. Case studies are chosen because they are suitable for researching a contemporary henomenon in real-life cases that has clear limitations. The data collection process is carried out with several techniques, namely observation, interview and study of ocumentation related to this research. The author uses purposive sampling techniques, so that the sample taken is really representative and knows exactly what the author needs. The informants in this study were ATBM striated weaving craftsmen in Tlingsing Village, Tlingsing Village Head, Informant from Persepsi NGO, Informant from Industry Trade Office, Cooperatives and MSMEs klaten regency and consumers weaving striated. To ensure the validity of the data is used triangulation of sources, while the analysis of data used is an interactive analysis model The results showed that social capital plays a role in the continuity of atbm striated weaving industry in Tlingsing Village. The three forms of social capital in the form of social capital bounding, bridging and linking have their respective roles in the continuity of the industry. Social capital bridging has the most powerful role compared to other social capital.
This is because social capital bridging is closely related to neighborly relationships. The network between neighbors is a very dominant factor and helps the craftsmen striated weaving in maintaining the continuity of the industry. The continuity of the industry in this research is seen from the continuity of capital, the continuity of human resources, the continuity of production and the continuity of marketing.
