This study focuses on investigating 1) the strategies used by teachers to teach speaking in an intensive English program for one month in Sragen Language Desa Bahasa Sragen, 2) students' perceptions of the teacher's strategies in teaching speaking in an English intensive program for one month in Desa Bahasa Sragen, 3) students' expectations of the teacher's strategy in teaching speaking in an intensive English language program for one month in Desa Bahasa Sragen, and 4) the impact of using speaking teaching strategies in an intensive English language program for one month in Desa Bahasa Sragen.

In order to gather information about the aforementioned foci, a case study was conducted. The research was conducted in Desa Bahasa Sragen. One teacher and two students were purposively recruited as participants in this study. Data was collected by researchers through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that the strategies used by the teacher were role play, picture narrating, and picture describing with a percentage of 40.625%, 12.5%, and 46.875%, respectively. Students have a positive perception of the strategies used by the teacher. The strategy used by the teacher is also in accordance with the expectations of the students. Furthermore, by using these strategies in teaching speaking, students' speaking skills improved. Student 1, who previously scored 51.6 in the pre-test, changed to 70.8 in the post-test. Meanwhile, student 2, who previously scored 52.8 in the pre-test, increased to 72.4 in the post-test.
