× ABSTRACT 2008. The Problems and Strategies of Rollover’s Public Relations in Handling City Walk Art Festival, English Diploma Program, Faculty of Letters and Fine Arts, Sebelas Maret University. This final project report is written based on the job training, which was done by the writer in public relations division of Rollover from February 4, 2008 to March 8, 2008. The writer had a job training program for more than 100 hours at public relations division to get the complete data and information about the problems and strategies of Rollover’s public relations in handling City Walk Art Festival. The objectives of this final project are to know the roles of public relations in Rollover and to find out the problems and strategies of Rollover’s public relations in handling City Walk Art Festival. The result of this report shows that Rollover has the roles of public relations in the company. The roles are as an image keeper of Rollover, as an event planner, as a promotor of the events. However, there are many problems faced by Rollover in handling City Walk Art Festival. These problems include internal and external problems. Internal problems are the low financial and human resource in handling that event. External problems are the difficulty in getting approval and following procedure and controlling the crowd of mass. Moreover, public relations of Rollover has the strategic ways to solve the problems; Such as by negotiating with the suppliers, backing up personnel, making good proposal to get the approval of conducting the activity, and making a sign to anticipate uncontrolled mass. Rollover’s public relations should solve the problems by making rules for the staff who work on the event and applying many strategic ways in handling events. The purpose of it is to make the event work perfectly.
