EFFECT OF CUMULATIVE FLUIDS BALANCE ON ENOS LEVELS IN CRITICAL PATIENTS AT HCU/ICU RSUD DR MOEWARDI SURAKARTA

Background: Endothlial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) is one of the biomarkers that can describe critical conditions in patients, and plays a major role in the pathogenesis of critically ill patients. Objective: Effect of CFD on eNOS levels in critically ill patients in HCU/ICU RSUD Dr Moewardi..

Methods: This study is an analytic observational study with a retrospective cohort approach. The measurement of eNOS was carried out when the patient was admitted to the ICU/HCU and on the 3rd day, while CFB was measured from the time the patient was admitted to the 3rd day. Samples will be grouped based on an increase or decrease in eNOS levels. The magnitude of the effect will be tested using logistic regression test, with a significance of p <0>

Results: From 44 patients who were followed up, there was a mean increase in CFB of 879.60 ±199.59 mL in 10 patients who experienced an increase in eNOS (+2505.20 ± 1623.39pg/mL) and a mean increase of CFB was 971.94 ±378, 47 mL in 34 patients who experienced a decrease in eNOS (-2568.03 ± 1772.37 pg/mL) during treatment. The majority of the patients were male (59.1%), the clinical outcome was survival (53.3%), the mean age was 52.34 years, and the average length of stay was 11.23 days. There is no significant difference (p > 0.05) between CFB on changes in eNOS levels in the study sample

Conclusion: Excess CFB was not shown to have a statistically significant effect on eNOS reduction in intensive care patients.
