Request is a kind of speech act which focuses on asking someone to do something (Trosborg, 1995). In delivering a request, the speaker has to consider the context of conversation in order to choose the right type and strategy of request. Brown and Levinson (1987) states that there are three relevant factors to assess the context of a conversation, namely power (P), social distance (D), and rank of imposition (R). The use of certain context to analyze the types and strategies used in a conversation will affect the accuracy of the relationship between the types and strategies of request. Afterwards, the study aims to investigate the utterances which contain the types and strategies of request used by the characters in the movie Frozen II based on their social contexts. This study was conducted by adopting a descriptive qualitative method by applying a pragmatics approach and using an analysis stage consisting of domain, taxonomy, componential, and cultural theme analysis. The results show that the use of types and strategies of request by the characters  in the movie Frozen II are influenced by context of situation (power and social distance) and also the movie stages (orientation, complication, evaluation, resolution). The types and strategies of request used by the characters in each movie stage are different as it can be seen from the matrix of componential analysis on the findings.
