This internship report was written based on the internship program conducted at Pro Translasi, which started from January 18 to March 19, 2021. This final report aims to describe the online internship activities in Pro Translasi, especially the translation process of the Xpress Money and Hikvision promotional texts.
When translating the promotional texts, the problems encountered were the economic and technological terms, long sentences, and parables. Some technical issues such as unstable signal, power blackout, and unsupported laptop also obstructed the internship activity.
In solving the translation problems, the strategies adopted were finding more references related to the difficult terms and parable, dividing the long sentence into two sentences or use conjunction, and reading the Pro Translasi’s examples of the translation results. Meanwhile, the strategies for dealing with the technical issues were seeking for a more stable signal, borrowing someone’s laptop, and requesting for a deadline extension.
