Some researcher had taken the same research about project-based learning. The study aims at analyzing whether project-based learning enhances the speaking skill of the eight grade students of one of private junior high school in Sragen and describing the teaching and learning situation when project-based leaning is applied to the eight grade students of one of private junior high school in Sragen. The data were collected from observation, questionnaire, interview, pre-test, and post test. The data were analyzed by using McKaren’s method for qualitative data and descriptive statistical formula for quantitative data. The findings showed that students’ score enhanced in each indicator. In pronunciation, the score was enhanced from 66.5 into 76. In grammar, the score significantly changed. The initial score was 64. It changed into 85. The score of vocabulary enhanced from 63 into 79.6. the score enhanced into 78.4 for fluency. The initial score was 64.5. Lastly, the score of comprehension enhanced into 79 from 59. The class situation became more alive. The classroom shifted from teacher-centered into student-centered. The findings implied that project-based learning could enhance students’ speaking skill and made classroom situation more alive. There are some important characteristics of project-based learning: (1) Students centered and collaborative; (2) Multidisciplinary and integrative; (3) Authentic activities; (4) the use of cognitive tool; (5) students’ interest and strength; (6) autonomous; (7) development of variety of skills. This research talked about the implementation of project based learning in the speaking classroom. The purpose of the research is to enhance students’ speaking skill using project-based learning. 26 eight grade students in Masaran, Sragen took part this classroom action research. There are nine meetings with 6 steps: speculation, designing the project, conducting the project, planning the presentation, making the presentation, and evaluation. To know the students’ improvement, the researcher used the test in pre-research and the last meeting in each cycle. The result of the study showed that project-based learning enhance the students’ speaking skill which is proven by the enhancement of the students’ score in speaking. Beberapa peneliti telah mengambil penelitian yang sama tentang project-based learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa apakah pembelajaran berbasis proyek meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa kelas delapan di salah satu smp it di Sragen dan untuk mendeskripsikan suasana belajar mengajar ketika pembelajaran berbasis proyek diterapkan pada kelas delapan di salah satu smp it di Sragen. Data dikumpulkan dari observasi, questionnaire, interview, pre-test, dan post-test. Data dianalisa menggunakan metode McKaren untuk data kualitatif dan formula deskripsi statistic untuk kuantitatif data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai siswa naik pada tiap indikator. Pada pelafalan nilai naik dari 66.5 menjadi 76. pada grammar, nilai berubah secara signifikan. Nilai awal 64. Nilai berubah menjadi 85. Nilai kosakata naik dari 63 menjadi 79.6. Nilai naik menjadi 78.4 untuk kelancaran. Nilai awal 64.5. Terakhir, nilai pemahaman naik menjadi 79 dari 59. Situasi kelas menjadi lebih hidup. Kelas berubah dari berpusat pada guru menjadi berpusat pada siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis proyek dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa dan membuat kelas menjadi lebih hidup. Berikut beberapa karakter penting project-based learning. (1) berpusat pada siswa dan kolaboratif; (2) lebih dari satu disiplin ilmu dan saling terhubung; (3) aktivitas autentik; (4) menggunakan alat kognitif; (5) ketertarikan dan kekuatan siswa; (6) autonomi; (7) pengembangan berbagai macam keahlian. Penelitian ini berbicara tentang penerapan project-based learning pada kelas berbicara. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk meningkatkan keahlian berbicara siswa menggunakan project-based learning. 26 siswa kelas delapan di Masaran, Sragen mengikuti penelitian tindakan kelas. Terdapat 9 pertemuan dengan 6 tahap: spekulasi, merancang proyek, melaksanakan proyek, merencanakan presentasi, membuat presentasi, dan evaluasi. Untuk mengetahui peningkatan siswa, peneliti menggunakan test pada pra-penelitian dan pertemuan terakhir pada setiap siklus. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa project-based learning meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa yang dibuktikan dengan peningkatan nilai berbicara siswa. Project-based learning membuat situasi kelas lebih menyenangkan.
