This study aims to develop Learning Design on Critical Thinking-based Learning Progression (CTLeaP Learning Design) on Reproductive Systems and Growth and Development Materials for High School Students for the academic year 2020/2021 – 2021/2022. CTLeaP is a learning design that was developed based on learning progression of critical thinking skills (CTS), learning progression on material, Inquiry Lesson Learning Model, and Think Aloud Method to empower students' CTS.

Design Based Research (DBR) approach was used in this study with a quasi-experimental time series design. This research was conducted in two cycles that begins with problem analysis and the development of the CTLeaP as a solution. The subjects were 179 students of Science 1-5 at Public High School of 5 Surakarta. Data collection techniques were carried out by CTS tests, observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The validity of the data using the RASCH model and experts. Data analysis used one way anova and N-Gain.

The results showed that the one way ANOVA test between classes showed a sig value. < that>
