The purpose of this study is to investigating whether  or  not  gender  stereotypes  in  an English   textbook   entitled   "Forward   An   English"   for   class   XI   SMK   by investigating (1) Frequency of selected gendered words (2) Frequency of male and female pronouns (3) Frequency of male and female address titles (4) Frequency of male and  female proper noun (5) Frequency of female and  male activity and occupation (6) Order of mention of male and female and (7) Frequency of female and male character in illustration/images. This study uses descriptive qualitative content  analysis as the research design.  Data were collected  from a textbook entitled “Forward An English” for eleventh graders of vocational school.  The research results show that in terms of textual representation in the book entitled "Forward an English" there are more males than females in terms of frequency of male and  female  pronouns,  frequency of male  and  female  address  titles,  and frequency of male and female proper noun. While in the frequency of selected gendered words aspect, female is more than male. Male is mentioned more than female in terms of activity and occupation, and males also have a wide range of job options. As well as in terms of visual representation, the male also has more illustrations than female.
