This study focuses on the expressive speech acts of the subtitle from Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted Season 2 Episode 4. This research is qualitative descriptive research. This study aims to identify the types of expressive speech acts in both source text and target text, types of politeness strategies in both source text and target text, the shifting that occurs on the expressive speech act and politeness strategy, and the quality of the translation in terms of the accuracy and the acceptability from the Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted Season 2 Episode 4. The data of this research are the utterances that containing expressive speech acts

The research is a translation product oriented using the Qualitative Descriptive Research. Qualitative method is used to explain the findings of the research qualitatively in words and sentences instead of numerical measurements. With the total sampling method to collect the data containing expressive speech acts.

There are 6 types of expressive speech acts found in 82 data, they are apologizing, thanking, congratulating, greeting, wishing and attitude. There are also 3 types of politeness strategy found, they are positive politeness, negative politeness, and indirect politeness.

The analysis of the shifting shows that there are 4 shifted data in the result the translation of the subtitle. The result of the quality analysis shows that the majority of the expressive speech acts translation in terms of accuracy were accurate with 71 data (87%) with the small number of less accurate with 11 data (13%) without any inaccurate data found. In terms of acceptability, the data were the same with the accuracy, that is majorly acceptable with 71 data (87%) were categorized as acceptable, with the rest of the data with 11 data (13%) were categorized as less acceptable, without any unacceptable data found in the source of data. It can be concluded that the translator of this series has a good understanding and competence in the field of translation but it is not considered the same in the context of cross-cultural understanding between English and Bahasa Indonesia.
