            This research is designed to classify the types of proper name found in “Fate: The Winx Saga” and “Shadow and Bone” series, identify the translation techniques used by the translator in translating the proper name, and analyze the proper name’s translation quality in terms of accuracy, acceptability, and readability.

            This research is categorized as descriptive qualitative research since the data of the research were analyzed descriptively and the results are in form of words. The research used two kinds of data; linguistic data and translation data. The linguistic data consisted of proper name taken from the series, and translation data consisted of the proper name’s translation techniques and proper name’s translation quality. Moreover, the source of data consisted of documents and informants. The documents of this research were “Fate: The Winx Saga” and “Shadow and Bone” series. Meanwhile, the informants of this research were three raters including the researcher who validated and assess the data by identifying proper name’s translation techniques and analyzing the translation quality. Moreover, the researcher applied content analysis and Focus Group Discussion in collecting the data.

            The result of the research shows that there are nine types of proper name of the total of 272 data, namely People’s Names, Geographical Terms, Names of Objects, Names of Institutions and Organizations, Names of Events, Brand Names, Titles of Books, Names of Nationalities, and Names of Animals. Furthermore, there are seven translation techniques applied by the translator, namely Pure Borrowing, Established Equivalent, Established Equivalent + Pure Borrowing, Implicitation, Explicitation, Deletion, and Literal Translation + Pure Borrowing. Moreover, the final score of the translation quality is 2.97, which consists of 2.97 in terms of Accuracy, 2.98 in terms of Acceptability, and 2.98 in terms of Readability. The score shows that the translator had successfully translated the proper name to target language.
