This internship report aims to describe all of the activities during the two month virtual internship program at Pro Translasi, which are divided into two categories, namely main activities and additional activities. The main activities I did are translating abstracts and questionnaires. Meanwhile, the additional activities I did are translating several types of texts (general, legal, academic, IT, and game), subtitling, writing articles, and typing scanned legal documents. The translation process of the abstracts and questionnaires were carried out based on the translation process stated by Nida and Taber, namely analyzing, transferring, and restructuring. Moreover, I used the established equivalent, amplification, reduction, borrowing, and modulation techniques by Molina and Albir (2004); the literal translation and communicative translation methods by Newmark (1988); and the translation by paraphrase and idiom of similar meaning and form strategies by Baker (1992) to produce accurate, acceptable, and readable translations of the texts. The problems I encountered during the translation process are difficult terms, idioms, and tenses. To solve them, the strategies I adopted are finding references and applying the established equivalent technique, the reduction technique, the communicative translation method, the literal translation method, the translation by paraphrase strategy, and an idiom of similar meaning and form strategy.
