Abstrak :

Biduri (C. gigantea) is a herbaceous plant that has very diverse uses, including in the health sector and in the textile sector. One of the efforts to increase the growth of biduri is through fertilization. The use of inorganic fertilizers in Indonesia is high which results in a decrease in soil fertility, which in turn can reduce agricultural production. Compost and mycorrhizal fertilizers are an alternative in reducing the use of inorganic fertilizers. This study aims to explore the role of compost and mycorrhizal fertilizers on the growth of biduri. The research was in the form of an experiment at a screen house, Laboratory of Chemistry and Soil Fertility, Laboratory of Physiology and Biotechnology, and Field Laboratory of FP UNS Jumantono Karanganyar from March to October 2021. The experimental design was a factorial Completely Randomized Block Design, which consisted of 2 factors. The first factor is compost at a dose of 0, 10, 20, 30 tons/ha. The second factor was mycorrhizae with 0, 5, 10, 15 g/plant. Each treatment combination was repeated three times to obtain 48 experimental units. Data analysis using ANOVA level 5%, if it has a significant effect then continued with the orthogonal polynomial test. The variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, stem diameter, flowering time, number of flowers, leaf area, number of stomata, stomata opening width, photosynthesis rate, transpiration rate, and chlorophyll. The results showed that the dose of compost and mycorrhizal fertilizer did not interact on all variables, as well as the dose of mycorrhizal. Compost fertilizer doses of 10, 20, and 30 tons/ha linearly or nearly linearly increased plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, number of chlorophyll, and number of flowers but slowed flowering.
