The internship program started on January 18 and lasted to March 18, 2021 which took place at The Cooperation Section of Surakarta City Regional Secretariat. I carried the activities out on 5 working days, namely Monday-Friday each week, with 8 working hours from 08.00 to 16.00. The primary activity that I did is compiling the book “Surakarta City Profile” with 4 chapters that talk about special themes. The chapters “The People”, “Social, Health, and Education”, “Geography and Weather”, “Trade and Investment” are the special chapters that I focus on in my primary activity. The secondary activity is producing the “Ready to Change” video with the focus of my task is on making video subtitle.
The main aim of the production of the book and video is to introduce the potentials of the city of Surakarta to the readers. In translating content, I used the translation guidelines from the theory of Nida and Taber (1982) which consist of 3 stages, namely analysis, transferring, and restructuring. I based the translation techniques that I use on the theory of techniques developed by Molina and Albir (2002) including borrowing, reduction and established equivalent.
