Melon (Cucumis melo) is a highly nutritious commodity, especially rich in provitamin A and carotenoids, which causes its market demand in Indonesia to continue to increase. However, there has been a decline in melon productivity due to the limited availability of melon seeds. This study aims to obtain the productivity and potential superiority of melon BM.ML04 compared to comparison melon varieties already on the market, as well as to obtain a description of the melon variety BM.ML04 so that its characteristics and advantages can be identified. The research was conducted in Kaliwuluh Village, Kebakkramat District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java from May to July 2025. The method used was a single factor Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), namely the melon varieties tested included BM. ML04 (V1), Glamour (V2), Madesta (V3), and Okasa (V4), with four replications. The observed variables included environmental conditions, qualitative characteristics, quantitative characteristics, quantitative characteristics that were not statistically tested, and consumer preference tests. The identified qualitative characteristics will be analyzed descriptively based on the Test Implementation Guide (PPU) regarding the Uniqueness, Uniformity and Stability of Melon No. PVT/PPU/9/3 to compare the varying characters in each tested treatment. Quantitative data will be analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at the 5% level to determine the impact of variety treatment on the observed variables. If there is a significant difference, it will be continued with the Honestly Significant Difference Test (HSD) at the 5% level to compare the average between variety treatments. The research results showed that the BM.ML04 melon variety had high productivity and sugar content. Characteristics of the BM.ML04 melon include cotyledon shape, flower petal color, fruit rind type, fruit skin color, and seed color.
