Abstrak : Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : (1) Untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara persepsi tentang kompetensi profesional guru dengan pemahaman sejarah pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri I Jatiroto Tahun Ajaran 2008/2009; (2) Untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara pemanfaatan sumber belajar dengan pemahaman sejarah pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri I Jatiroto Tahun Ajaran 2008/2009; (3) Untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara persepsi tentang kompetensi profesional guru dan pemanfaatan sumber belajar secara bersama-sama dengan pemahaman sejarah pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri I Jatiroto Tahun Ajaran 2008/2009. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri I Jatiroto Tahun Ajaran 2008/2009 yang berjumlah 228 siswa. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 46 siswa yang diambil secara proportional random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket untuk memperoleh data persepsi kompetensi profesional guru dan pemanfaatan sumber belajar serta tes untuk memperoleh data pemahaman sejarah. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis korelasi dan regresi ganda. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: (1) Ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara persepsi tentang kompetensi profesional guru dengan pemahaman sejarah. Hasil hitung pada n = 46 dan taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh = 0,455 lebih besar dari rtabel = 0,291. Berdasarkan angka korelasi tersebut maka harga koefisien determinasinya adalah 0,207025. Angka ini mencerminkan bahwa variansi pemahaman sejarah dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel persepsi tentang kompetensi profesional guru sebesar 20,7025% melalui regresi . Koefisien regresi variabel persepsi tentang kompetensi profesional guru adalah 0,176. Angka tersebut mencerminkan bahwa setiap persepsi tentang kompetensi profesional guru ditingkatkan sebanyak satu unit skor, maka berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan pemahaman sejarah siswa sebesar 0,176 unit skor dengan konstanta 3,923; (2) Ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara pemanfaatan sumber belajar dengan pemahaman sejarah. Hasil hitung pada n = 46 dan taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh = 0,333 lebih besar dari rtabel = 0,291. Berdasarkan angka korelasi tersebut maka harga koefisien determinasinya adalah 0,11089. Angka ini mencerminkan bahwa variansi pemahaman sejarah dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel pemanfaatan sumber belajar sebesar 11,089% melalui regresi . Koefisien regresi variabel pemanfaatan sumber belajar adalah 0,110. Angka tersebut mencerminkan bahwa setiap pemanfaatan sumber belajar ditingkatkan sebanyak satu unit skor, maka berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan pemahaman sejarah siswa sebesar 0,110 unit skor dengan konstanta 10,777; (3) Ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara persepsi tentang kompetensi profesional guru dan pemanfaatan sumber belajar secara bersama-sama dengan pemahaman sejarah. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh koefisien korelasi ganda sebesar 0,5313. Berdasarkan angka korelasi tersebut maka harga koefisien determinasinya adalah 0,2823. Angka ini mencerminkan bahwa variansi pemahaman sejarah dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel persepsi tentang kompetensi profesional guru dan pemanfaatan sumber belajar secara bersama-sama sebesar 28,23% melalui regresi . Uji signifikansi dengan menggunakan uji F menghasilkan Fhitung 8,457. Karena Fhitung 8,457 > Ftabel 3, 22 maka terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara persepsi kompetensi profesional guru dan pemanfaatan sumber belajar secara bersama-sama dengan pemahaman sejarah. Abstract : The aims of the research are: (1) finding out whether there is any relationship between the perception of the professional competence of teacher and historical comprehension for eighth grader in SMP Negeri 1 Jatiroto in academic year 2008/2009; (2) finding out whether there is any relationship between the use of study source and historical comprehension for the eighth grader in SMP Negeri 1 Jatiroto in Academic year 2008/2009; (3) finding out whether there is any relationship between the perception of the professional competence of teacher and the use of study source jointly and the historical comprehension for eighth grader in SMP Negeri 1 Jatiroto in academic year 2008/2009. The research is quantitative descriptive research. The population of the research is 228 students taken from eighth grader in SMP Negeri 1 Jatiroto in academic year 2008/2009. The research sample is 46 students by using proportional random sampling. The technique of collecting data used is questionnaire to get the perception of professional competence of teacher and the use of study source, and test to get historical comprehension data. The techniques of data analysis used are correlation analysis and double regression. Based on the result of analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that : (1) there is a positive significant relationship between the perception on the teachers’ professional competency and the history comprehension. The result of calculation in n = 46 at significance level of 5% shows that = 0.455 higher than rtable = 0.291. Based on such correlation figure, the determination coefficient value is 0.207025. This figure reflects that the history comprehension variance can be explained by the variable of perception on the teachers’ professional competency of 20.7025% through the regression ? = 3.923 + 0.176X1. The regression coefficient of perception on the teachers’ professional competency variable is 0.176. Such figure reflects that when the perception on the teachers’ professional competency increases one unit score, it affects the students’ history comprehension of 0.176 unit score at the constant of 3.923; (2) there is a positive significant relationship between the utilization of learning source and the history comprehension. The result of calculation in n = 46 at significance level of 5% shows that = 0.333 higher than rtable = 0.291. Based on such correlation figure, the determination coefficient value is 0.11089. This figure reflects that the history comprehension variance can be explained by the utilization of learning source variable of 11.089% through the regression ? = 10.777 + 0.110X2. The regression coefficient of the utilization of learning source variable is 0.110. Such figure reflects that when the utilization of learning source increases one unit score, it affects the students’ history comprehension of 0.110 unit score at the constant of 10.777; (3) there is a positif significant relationship between the perception on the teachers’ professional competency as well as the utilization of learning source simultaneously and the history comprehension. Based on the result of data analysis, it is obtained the multiple correlation coefficient of 0.53153. Considering such correlation figure, the determination coefficient value is 0.2823. This figure reflects that the history comprehension variance can be explained by the variables of perception on the teachers’ professional competency and utilization of learning source simultaneously of 28.23% through the regression ? = -3.63 + 0.1612X1 + 0.0915X2. The significance test using F-test provides Fstat of 8.457. Because Fstat of 9.457 > Ftable of 3.22, there is a positive significant relationship between the perception on the teachers’ professional competency as well as the utilization of learning source simultaneously and the history comprehension.
