This study aims to (1) analyzed the chemical literacy of high school students in Indonesia in the topic of Climate Change, (2) analyzed the chemical literacy of high school students in Philippines in the topic of Climate Change, (3) compared the grade 9th and 10th student‘s chemical literacy profile in the topic of climate change in Indonesia and the Philippines. This research was a qualitative descriptive research. The data source in this study was respondents from 36 students from 9th grade in the Philippines and 47 students from 10th grade in Indonesia. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with students in grades 9 and 10 who are 14-16 years old, they have studied climate change material. Data collection techniques carried out to measure students chemical literacy through surveys followed by open-ended questions, cognitive tests and interviews. The instrument validity test technique used the Gregory formula and the data validity used source triangulation. The results of this study are (1) the chemical literacy of students in Indonesia in the topic of climate change included in the medium category with a result of 59.14, with 23% of students in the high category, 40% of students in the medium category, and 36% of students in the low category. (2) the chemical literacy of students in the Philippines in the topic of climate change was still in the medium category, which is 57.77, with 25% of students in the high category, 33% of students in the medium category, and 42% of students in the low category, and (3) based on surveys, cognitive tests, and interviews, it can be concluded that the chemical literacy of students in Indonesia is slightly higher than the chemical literacy of students in the Philippines. Both countries achieved the highest scores in the context aspect and knowledge aspect in the survey, as well as knowledge and concept indicators in chemistry and chemistry indicators in context in cognitive tests. However, chemical literacy in both countries is still relatively low.
