Aga Sepcovano wibisana, 2025. Translating Religious Terms in the Book Entitled "The Philosophy and Theology of Averroes" at PT Anak Hebat Indonesia. English Diploma Program, Vocational School. Internship report is written to provide an overview of my internship activities at PT Anak Hebat Indonesia, a publishing company established in November 2016 that has published more than 2,000 books across various genres. During the internship, I was assigned to translate a book The Philosophy and Theology of Averroes, written by Mohammad Jamil-Ur-Rehman and published on January 1, 1921. The book discusses the thoughts of Averroes, a well-known Islamic philosopher, particularly his contributions to philosophy and theology. As a result, this book contains many religious terms. In this report, I focus on the discussion of translating the religious terms, which have totally 42 terms. In the translation process, I applied the theory of Nida and Taber (1969 as cited in Jabak, 2020), which consists of three stages: analyzing, transferring, and restructuring. In the analyzing stage, I examined the meaning and context of religious terms, particularly those with theological significance, by referring to resources such as the Cambridge Dictionary and Google to gain a better understanding of their meanings and usage. In the transferring stage, I initially translated the terms literally to generate a rough version of the translation. In the final restructuring stage, I revised the terms and selected appropriate vocabulary based on several considerations, including the AHI editorial guideline, and made them clear in Indonesian without losing the religious meaning. In addition to translating, I also joined translation tests, weekly project consultations, editing sessions, and contributed to the foreword of the book I translated, synopsis, and author profile. This internship program has greatly enhanced my skills and abilities in translation. Additionally, working in a professional setting has given me knowledge and experiences that I had never encountered before. Moreover, this internship has contributed to preparing me as a graduate who is ready to actively work in the language industry.
