One approach to increasing waxy maize production to meet market demand is the application of Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs). This study aimed to evaluate the interaction effects and to determine the optimal concentrations of shallot bulb extract and bamboo shoot extract for improving waxy maize yield. The research was conducted in Jati Village, Jaten Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia, from October 2024 to January 2025. The method used was a factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors. The first factor was shallot extract (without shallot extract; 15; and 30 g.L-1). The second factor was bamboo shoot extract at four levels (without bamboo shoot extract; 10; 20; and 30 g.L-1). Observed variables was yield of waxy maize. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and when significant differences were detected, Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% significance level was applied. The results showed that shallot extract at a concentration of 30 g.L-1 increased husked fresh cob weight and kernel weight per cob. Bamboo shoot extract at a concentration of 30 g.L-1 decreased the anthesis–silking interval.
