This internship report is written based on my experience during the internship at KONEKIN for two months, from 20 January 2025 to 10 March 2025. This report aims to report all activities and difficulties experienced during the internship. This report details the background and the company profile, as well as the main activities and additional activities experienced during the internship. The focus of this report is the translation of KONEKIN’s company regulation. The translation process presented challenges due to differences in Indonesian and English regulations and systems. Overcoming these difficulties, I applied various translation theories and techniques, including analyzing, transferring, and restructuring, as well as calquing and transposition. I looked up on KBBI, Cambridge Dictionary, and Merriam-Webster to understand the meaning of the source text. In this report, I also describe some additional activities related to my position as MEL Support Intern in the Learning and Development division. These activities included assisting with program implementation reports and evaluation reports, drafting proposals, and collecting data on the latest disability regulation. Throughout the translation process, I faced specific challenges, particularly in rendering terminology, agency names, and ensuring a formal sentence structure in the English text. I utilized reliable sources for my references such as governmental websites and parallel text from natives to ensure accuracy and equivalency in meaning. In conclusion, I also offer recommendations based on my experience during the internship.
