ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan meningkatkan keaktifan dan prestasi belajar mata pelajaran Sosiologi siswa kelas XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2014/ 2015 melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT).
Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta sebanyak 31 siswa. Sumber data berasal dari guru dan siswa. Teknik utama dalam pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes, sementara teknik pendukung dengan menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan prestasi belajar mata pelajaran Sosiologi siswa kelas XI IIS 4 mulai dari prestasi siswa pra siklus, siklus I sampai siklus II. Keaktifan siswa menunjukkan prosentase 19,35% pada tahap pra tindakan meningkat menjadi 45,16% pada siklus I dan kembali meningkat menjadi 83,87% pada siklus II. Prestasi belajar siswa menunjukkan peningkatan dari nilai rata-rata kelas 82,19 pada pra siklus meningkat menjadi 84,48 pada siklus I dan kembali meningkat menjadi 88,87 pada siklus II.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan prestasi belajar sosiologi siswa kelas XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta pada tahun pelajaran 2014/ 2015.

ABSTRACT
This research was aimed to improve the activeness and achievement of students of class XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2014/2015 by implementing a type of cooperative learning that is Numbered Head Together (NHT).
This is a classroom action research that includes two cycles during the collecting data process. Each cycle included planning, acting, observing, and reflecting stages. The subject was thirty one students of class XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta. Both teachers and students became the sources of the data. Observation and test were used as the main techniques of collecting data, while interview and documentation were used as secondary technique. The data were analyzed through descriptive analysis technique.
The result shows that the implementation of Numbered Head Together (NHT) as a cooperative learning type can improve students’ activeness and achievement in sociology in class XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta. The improvement can be seen by through pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. The percentage of students’ activeness improved from 19,35% in the pre-cycle to 45,16% in cycle I and 83,87% in cycle II. The last improvement is seen from students’ achievement. The students’ mean score in pre cycle was 82,19 that improved to 84,48 in cycle I and finally imroved to 88,87% in cycle II.
Based on the research, it can be taken a conclusion that the implementation of Numbered Head Together (NHT) as a cooperative learning type can improve students’ activeness and achievement in sociology in class XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 2 Surakartain academic year 2014/2015.
