ABSTRAK
Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk meningkatan motivasi dan hasil belajar sosiologi dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) di kelas XI I.IS 4 SMA Negeri 1 Gombong tahun pelajaran 2014/2015.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) (Classroom Action Research) . Subjek penelitian  adalah siswa kelas XI I.IS 4 SMA Negeri 1 Gombong  yang berjumlah 28 siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan dua siklus tindakan. Siklus pertama membahas pokok bahasan permasalahan sosial dalam masyarakat dan siklus kedua membahas pokok bahasan perbedaan, kesetaraan dan keharmonisan sosial. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dari hasil observasi selama kegiatan pembelajaran sosiologi berlangsung dengan menggunakan lembar observasi motivasi belajar, catatan lapangan, test dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dari lembar observasi motivasi belajar siswa dianalisis dengan menghitung dari keseluruhan aspek yang diamati. Data yang diperoleh dari test dianalisis dengan menghitung nilai rata-rata kelas XI I.IS 4 tiap siklus.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa motivasi dan hasil belajar sosiologi siswa setelah dilakukan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD pada materi permasalahan sosial dalam masyarakat, dan perbedaan, kesetaraan dan keharmonisan sosial mengalami peningkatan. Hasil ini terlihat dari rata-rata aspek motivasi belajar dan evaluasi hasil belajar sosiologi siswa kelas XI I.IS 4 SMA Negeri 1 Gombong yang mengalami peningkatan. Motivasi belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 13.93% dari siklus I sebesar 68,22% menjadi82.14% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian motivasi belajar siswa kelas XI I.IS 4 SMA Negeri 1 Gombong yang mulanya tergolong sedang, setelah tindakan menjadi sangat tinggi. Hasil belajar siswa terlihat dari nilai test pada akhir siklus mengalami peningkatan sebesar 2.89 dari prasiklus yang memiliki nilai rata-rata 73.36 menjadi 76.25 setelah siklus I. setelah dilaksanakan siklus II nilai rata-rata siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 4.32 menjadi 80,57.

ABSTRAC
The objective of research was to improve the motivation and sociological learning achievement by applying  Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) types of learning model in the XI I.IS 4 graders of SMA Negeri 1Gombong in the academic year of 2014/2015.
This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of research was the XI I.IS 4 graders of SMA Negeri 1 Gombong in consisting of 28 students. Research carried out two cycles act. The cycle first discuss subjects of basic social problems in society and the cycle of the two to discuss the most basic differences , equality and social harmony. Data obtained from the observation of research results for learning activities sociology continue to use sheets observation motivation to learn , field notes, Test and documentation. The data collected from observation student learning motivation sheets analyzed by counting from all the aspects that observed. Data obtained from test analyzed by counting the average value of XI I.IS 4 class at every cycles.
The research results show that the motivation and learning outcomes sociology students after the application of model of learning cooperative type stad to the matter of social problems in society , and the difference , equality and social harmony improved. This result can be seen from the average aspects to it. learning and evaluation learning outcomes sociology student of class XI I.IS 4 SMA Negeri 1 Gombong improved. Students motivation improved 13.93 % from the cycle I was only 68,22 % became 82.14 % in the cycle II .Thus learning motivation a student XI I.IS  4 SMA Negeri 1 Gombong which at beginning was categorized in the middle, after getting treatment it became very high. The Student learning result could be seen from the mean test score in the end of the cyckle wich improved 2.89 from pre-cycle which only had score  73.36 became 76.25 after cycle I. having done cycle II the mean score of the students improved 4.32 became 80,57.
