Nomina deverba peng-d, peng-d-an, dan d-an dalam Bahasa Indonesia

× ABSTRACT This article deals with nominalization derived from verbs in the forms of meng-R, meng-R-i, and meng-R-kan and their relation with nouns in the forms of peng-R, peng-R-an and R-an. It tries to find out the rule of nominalization generally and naturally used in Indonesian language. Nouns in the forms of peng-R, peng-R-an and R-an derived from verbs of class I are very productive, especially those of peng-R which brings ‘agent’ meaning. Derivational nouns of peng-R, peng-R-an and R-an derived from verbs of class II are signified by the absents of meng-R/di-R or R that does not have any relation with meng-R/di-R. Since they are not formed from meng-R, the nouns rooted from class II verb are derived from verbs of meng-R-i or verb of meng-R-kan. Nouns in forms of peng-R, peng-R-an and R-an derived from verbs of class II are very productive. The most productive one is noun in the form of peng-R which has the meaning of ‘agent’. Nouns in that form can be further classified into 2 classifications; a) those with agent meaning that are usually used in entertainment field, b) those with agent meaning that are borrowed from Javanese language, c) those with agent meaning that are usually used in political field. Noun in the form of peng-R also has the meaning ‘inanimate agent’ meaning. Among nouns in the forms of peng-R, peng-R-an and R-an derived from verbs of class II, that in form of peng-R-an is the most productive one. There are no many nouns in the forms of peng-R, and R-an. It is due to the fact that the nouns rooted from class II verb are not derived from verb of meng-R, but verbs in the forms of meng-R-i or meng-R-kan.
